I hate being sick...

First thing: That missing diaper was found that evening before she went to bed. She had put it in her pajama drawer and luckily, there was NO poop in it. So, thank goodness for that.

The rest of yesterday went much better. We went and looked at a couple houses and I saw one that I REALLY like. I'd LOVE to buy it. The layout is amazing, the house is beautiful and large! They squeeze FIVE kids into that house, so that's gotta count for something. I'm not getting my hopes up though as it just came on the market and is $10,000 more than our budget. But, I did take pictures if anyone is interested. We want to go try and see it again this weekend and bring Adam's stepfather and mother with us.

After the house hunting I went to the grocery store with Nicole. We desperately needed food in the house. I got a lot of stuff for only $175, so that's not too bad. Less than we usually spend anyway. :) Afterwords Nicole came over for dinner. I made chicken fajitas. They were DELICIOUS. Then we put Miranda to bed and watched Rent.

Today was an okay day. Miranda was up at 7:30 like usual. I caught her cold and I was feeling like crap all morning. So, I got her up & dressed, fed her a hearty breakfast of yogurt and a banana (with some milk) and put on some cartoons for her. I was feeling really lousy still so I just laid down for (what I thought) a minute. Next thing I know I look at the clock and its TEN!! Yikes! I ran upstairs, got Adam up and we proceeded throughout our day as usual. I felt like the worst mother in the world though. Miranda was fine, the living room was a little wrecked but not too badly. She had fun sitting and watching PBS all morning I guess.

After her nap I went out with Nicole again. I got Miranda two new pairs of shoes since the store was having a BOGO sale. I got her a new pair of size 4's and a pair of size 5's to grow into. :) Way to think ahead mom. Then we went and got Friendly's for dinner and went home. Now, it's time for bed since I am BEAT and 7:30 comes awfully early for me. I don't want to repeat of this morning either.

Good night.

What a way to start my day...

Okay, so I should've known better, but I put Miranda in a nightgown last night. Didn't really think anything of it. Well, I woke up this morning to Miranda banging on her door (like usual). She was a few minutes "late" (It was 7:45) and I thought "Cool, I got to sleep in a bit." Well, I walked in there and she had gotten her diaper off and crapped on the floor. Then she had stepped in it and tracked it all over her room. Oh boy.... I woke Adam up and had him take care of her while I furiously cleaned her carpet. It was a mess!! Needless to say, although no real harm was done, she will NOT be wearing just a nightgown to bed anymore. I have cute little shorts I can put on underneath it and that will hopefully keep her from getting her diaper off.

To top it all off...I turned her room upside down and shook it sideways and STILL can't find the diaper. EEEK!

Trying to blog more...

I'm really going to start trying to blog more. My afternoon was pretty typical for a Monday. Miranda gave us a little hassle going down for her nap but soon gave in. She was pretty tired since she isn't feeling well. She woke up at 4:00. I called my dad, like I usually do on Mondays. He came over, we hung around for a little bit then he took me, Kevin and Jen out to dinner at Bertucci's. Yum! Miranda had a great time just chowing down on the dough they give kids to play with. Bleck! She went down pretty easy once we got home and then I watched 10 Things I Hate About You.

Tomorrow we're going to look at houses. Yay!

What a FANTASTIC weekend!!!

Can I just say that I had one of the best birthday weekends I've ever had. Friday I went out and got my new tattoo. It symbolizes my two daughters. I love it! It came out fantastic. I'm not one to get something "obvious" tattooed to me like names and birthdates. I know those things, who cares? I like picking something personal out that means something to me. Now my guardian angel and my panda bear will always be with me. :) Afterwards me and my best friend Nicole got drunk. We drank a whole bottle of rum by ourselves. I know some people may not agree with a parent drinking, but cut me some slack. I am still a kid. lol Nicole and I share the same birthday so it is fun to celebrate together. Then on Saturday we had dinner with my mother-in-law. She made corned beef and cabbage. YUM!! Then we left Miranda with her so that we could go see Jim Bruer that night. That show was HILARIOUS!!! My stomach was killing me that night and the next day from laughing so hard. Nicole has a picture of Adam, her and I with Jim but I haven't gotten it from her yet. I'll post it as soon as I do. Sunday was more a day of recovery and relaxation. I did go out to Best Buy and spent my gift card to there. I got myself a few movies I've been dying to buy myself, plus one for Miranda. (Rent, Chicago, 10 Things I Hate About You, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and Elmopalooza). I had such a great time spending time with the people I hold close to me and making some great memories. Thank you Adam, Nicole, Kevin and everyone else for making this a FANTASTIC birthday.

Busy, busy...

I've been so busy all week it seems.

Miranda is doing GREAT in her toddler bed. She sleeps all night and doesn't get out of bed until morning. Yay Miranda! Tomorrow the dog is getting groomed, Adam is going to try the DMV thing again tomorrow and then we'll do dinner out like we normally do. Saturday will be spent out in Windsor Locks, Suffield and Enfield again. We have three houses to go look at. Wish us luck. :)

Tuesday August 12, 2008

The past couple of days have gone really well for me. Miranda is now sleeping in a toddler bed and doing really well with it. She's been so well-behaved lately, it's amazing. I really can't believe how fast babies grow up.

I've been "working out" on my Wii Fit since I got it on Saturday, so that's pretty cool. It's nice to see my weight slowly going down.

I have a playdate to go to tomorrow afternoon. That'll be fun.

We've been seriously house hunting lately even though logically I think a mortgage would kill us.

So, I just realized as I logged in tonight that this is my 50th post. :) Neat.

Today was pretty busy. Adam and I decided to turn Miranda's bed into a toddler bed before lunch time. That turned into a project but we eventually got everything all set up and safe. Her first nap in there went well. Straight to sleep like normal but it was a little shorter than normal. Only an hour and a half. After nap we went over to a friend's house for a playdate and she invited me to stay for supper, which was so sweet of her. Then it was time to scoot home and get her to bed. She stayed up for a little while, babbling in her crib but I checked on her once and she was still in bed. :) I tucked her back into bed, gave her a kiss and off into dreamland she went. So far, so good.

Off to go do some more Wii Fit now.

Happy Birthday to me!

Okay, so it's a little early but my mom went out and bought me the Wii Fit I've been wanting for my birthday! Yay!!! That thing is so awesome and I really hope it will help me actually get fit, like it says. If not, well then at least it is a ton of fun. ;) My brother and his girlfriend really like it a lot too.

An update on that house...I have one word: YUCK! Everything needed replacing or redone. It was moldy and disgusting. So, obviously it's a no go. I have faith that the right starter home is out there somewhere for us. I did find some open apartments out that way though, so if we get desperate we can go that route too. I actually think it would be better to do that. I honestly don't know if we could afford a mortgage right now. It would be tough, that's for sure.

Miranda was an absolute grump all day. Just one of them off days, but she's sleeping peacefully away now. We're going to the park tomorrow after she wakes up from her nap. Yay! I'll take some pictures.

Thoughts...

Nothing very exciting happened today. Went shopping and it rained...a LOT! Tomorrow I have a play date in the morning then I get to spend the rest of the day with Adam. That'll be nice.

I have to say though, that what the doctor said to me on Wednesday is really upsetting me. I know it shouldn't because when I look at my daughter I see a perfectly healthy child who is developing right on her own schedule and growing every day. But, on the other hand, now I have this doctor who is breathing down my neck saying that if my daughter doesn't jump in percentiles they are going to "diagnose her as failure to thrive". Excuse me? Would someone please tell me how my daughter is NOT thriving??? Then of course they throw this murmur thing at me and then proceed to tell me "not to worry". I know I shouldn't but I'm a mother! Worrying is what mothers do best!! I think if it was nothing to worry about they wouldn't be sending her to a cardiologist for an ultrasound. I know I have a lot of friends and good people praying over her right now and that sends me a lot of comfort but (and this is really hard for me to admit) I'm scared.

Oh, and we're also going to go look at a house on Saturday.

Miranda's 16 month appointment

Well, I was finally able to take Miranda in for her 15 month appointment today. Luckily she only need her Hep A shot (I believe) and so it won't affect the rest of her shot schedule. She weighed in at a "whopping" 20lbs even and is 31.25" long. That's 10th% for weight and 50th% for height. They are concerned about her weight percentiles dropping and we talked a long time about the fact that I can not get her to drink milk. They are having me try PediSure (tried for lunch...no go) and Carnation Instant Breakfast. I have to keep offering milk to her too and we're hoping it's just a phase. Otherwise she's right on track for all her milestones or even a little advanced. Yay! She didn't even cry when they gave her the shot, it was great!

While listening to her heart though, they detected a murmur and are sending us to a pediatric cardiologist for an ultrasound of her heart. They are hoping it's nothing, as am I but if you could all just say a few prayers for us, that would be wonderful.

All in all it was a good appointment.

Playdate day!

Today was a good day. After Miranda woke up from her nap, a few friends came over for a playdate. I love how Miranda turns into an entirely different child when there are other kids around. Normally, she's very active: running all over, up & down the slide, in & out of the swing and on & off various ride on toys all the while babbling away. As soon as other kids show up she gets very quiet, very calm and introverted, content to just watch and take it all in. It's so weird!!! As far as I know, everyone had a great time and I got the chance to talk car seat a little bit. Yay!!

Tomorrow, Miranda has her (one month late) doctor appointment so I'll be sure to update you all on how that goes.
